Habermas, Theorie de l’agir communicationnel 1987 “les pathologies sociales émergent à partir de distorsions systématiques des conditions de communication” …” Le pouvoir tout comme le savoir -ou les normes tout comme les vérités affirmées- ne sont justifiés que s’ils sont (ou peuvent être reconstruits en tant que) les résultats d’un discours exempt de relations de pouvoir distordantes… un discours dont tous les arguments peuvent être formulés et sont discutés uniquement sur la base et la logique de la ‘force du meilleur argument’.”

chap 8 : l’accélération et la critique des conditions de reconnaissance sociale
Honneth, La lutte pour la reconnaissance, 2000 “Nous devons être rapides et flexibles pour gagner, alors que simultanément, notre lutte pour la reconnaissance fait sans cesse tourner la roue de l’accélération.”. Dans le tempo intragénérationnel de la modernité tardive, la reconnaissance est fruit d’une “lutte dynamique” distribuée en fonction de la performance avec en conséquences burn-out et dépressions pathologiques. Il y a eu passage d’une “compétition positionnelle” à une “compétition performative” qui devient justement une “force motrice constante de l’accélération sociale”.
chap 9 : l’accélération comme nouvelle forme de totalitarisme
force totalitaire dans le sens où ” a) il exerce une pression sur les actions et les volontés des sujets, b) on ne peut pas lui échapper, affecte tous les sujets, c) omniprésent à tous les aspects de la vie sociale, d) quasi impossible à critique ou à combattre”.
